Enemy (The Album Parody)

The same friend who once gave me a suggestion that resulted in “Georgie (A Rock Opera Parody)” recently suggested I should try to do a concept album, out of one that wasn’t originally a concept album. Having just completed “Against The Universe” (below), I wondered if I could do something about Fox News Channel with all of the songs on the Beatles album “Let It Be”. I hope you like the result. I suggest you just pop in the CD, play it through from start to finish, and follow along with the lyrics below. You can decide for yourself which songs are talking about whom, or what.

Enemy (The Album parody)

I did a pygmy by Rupert Murdoch and the Death Panels.
Phase One in which Doocy gets his oats.

Look At Us
Original words and music “Two of Us” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

Look at us fighting unfair, bending someone’s heart our way
You can see one day lying, then denying, what we say is so
You have our say-so, you have our say-so, we say it’s so

Look at us blending host parts, citing haters all day long
You can see turning faces, shifting paces, what we say is so
You have our say-so, you have our say-so, we say it’s so

Using lies primarily long has been the mode that gets us out ahead

Look at us wearing flag pins, spinning logos, it’s so fun
You can see racists later, getting on air, what we say is so
You have our say-so, you have our say-so, we say it’s so

Using lies primarily long has been the mode that gets us out ahead

Look at us wearing flag pins, spinning logos, it’s so fun
You can see racists later, getting on air, what we say is so
You have our say-so, you have our say-so, we say it’s so
We say it’s so

I Rig a Story
Original words and music “I Dig a Pony” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

I ah hi hi, ah hi hi, rig a story
Well I can denigrate anything I want
Yes, I can denigrate anything I want
Oh, I ah hi hi, ah hi hi, do a bulldog
Well I can aggravate any place I go
Yes, I can aggravate any place I go
I told you so
All I got is views
Ev’rything has got to be just like it’s really news, because

I ah hi hi, ah hi hi, pick on moonbats
Well I can castigate ev’rything they are
Yes, I can castigate ev’rything they are
Oh, I ah hi hi, ah hi hi, call a phony
Well I can implicate ev’ryone they know
Yes, I can implicate ev’ryone they know
I told you so
All I got is views
Ev’rything has got to be just like it’s really news, because

Oh, now, I ah hi hi, ah hi hi, make the wind blow
Well I can vindicate ev’rything I know
Yes, I can vindicate ev’rything I know
Oh, now, I ah hi hi, ah hi hi, make ’em sorry
Well I can syndicate ev’ry book I wrote
Yes, I can syndicate ev’ry book I wrote
I told you so
All I got is views
Ev’rything has got to be just like it’s really news, because

Against the Universe
Original words and music “Across the Universe” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

Words are spewing out of mindless brains into a microphone
They differ while they pass; they spin away against the universe
Fools of sorrow they destroy the shifting few with open minds
Dissenting and resenting me
Kangaroo divas, oh
Nothing’s gonna change their world
Nothing’s gonna change their world
Nothing’s gonna change their world
Nothing’s gonna change their world

Damages from spoken fright, which stand ignored despite a million lies
They tell them on and on against the universe
Facts surrender like a listless friend inside their heads at Fox
They stumble blindly as they make their case against the universe
Kangaroo divas, oh
Nothing’s gonna change their world
Nothing’s gonna change their world
Nothing’s gonna change their world
Nothing’s gonna change their world

Boundless, dafter waves of lies they’re bringing to my open ears
Confusing and abusing me
Pitiless and lying ones I find around me talk a million tons
And falsely on and on against the universe
Kangaroo divas, oh
Nothing’s gonna change their world
Nothing’s gonna change their world
Nothing’s gonna change their world
Nothing’s gonna change their world

Kangaroo divas
Kangaroo divas
Kangaroo divas
Kangaroo divas

I Be Lyin’
Original words and music “I Me Mine” by George Harrison, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

All through the day
I be lyin’, I be lyin’, I be lyin’
All through the night
I be lyin’, I be lyin’, I be lyin’
Now they’re frightened believin’ it
Everyone’s feeding it
Coming out wrong all the time
All through the day
I be lyin’
I be be lyin’
I be be lyin’
I be be lyin’
I be be lyin’

All that you hear
I be lyin’, I be lyin’, I be lyin’
Even those tears
I be lyin’, I be lyin’, I be lyin’
No one’s frightened displaying it
Everyone saying it’s
Growing more deeply each time
All through the day
I be lyin’
I be be lyin’
I be be lyin’
I be be lyin’
I be be lyin’

All that you hear
I be lyin’, I be lyin’, I be lyin’
Even those tears
I be lyin’, I be lyin’, I be lyin’
No one’s frightened displaying it
Everyone saying it’s
Growing more deeply each time
All through my life
I be lyin’

Stick It
Original words and music “Dig It” by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Richard Starkey, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

Like he rolled a bone
A like he rolled a bone
Like he got too high
And went M.I.A.
From the F.C.C.
Tea Bag King
And Doocy’s gay!
Facts bug me! Stick it. Stick it. Stick it. Stick it.
Stick it. Stick it. Stick it. Stick it. Stick it.
Stick it. Stick it. Stick it. Stick it. Stick it.

That was “Can You Stick It,” by Georgie Bush
And now we’d like to do “All the Angels Gone.”

Enemy
Original words and music “Let It Be” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

When I bind myself in kinds of bubbles
Someone scary talks to me
Speaking from the Kingdom,
“Enemy”

And in his hour of dumbness
He is standing right on my TV
Speaking from the Kingdom,
“Enemy”

Enemy, enemy, enemy, enemy
Whispers from the Kingdom
“Enemy”

And when the stoking started people
Living in their world agreed
Someone has to answer
“Enemy”

And with the word imparted there’s a
Better chance that they will see
Someone made to answer
“Enemy”

Enemy, enemy, enemy, enemy
Someone has to answer
“Enemy”

And when the Right is rowdy
They instill a guy who lies to me
Lies until tomorrow
“Enemy”

I wake up to the sound of Doocy
Someone scary talks to me
Speaking from the Kingdom,
“Enemy”

Enemy, enemy, enemy, enemy
Someone has to answer
“Enemy”
Enemy, enemy, enemy, enemy
Whispers from the Kingdom
Enemy

Megyn K.
Original words and music “Maggie Mae” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

Oh, flirty Megyn K.
They just let her have her say
And they’ll let her walk down Lie Street ever more
Oh, the judge they put beside her
Was noddin’ to just abide her
That flirty, no good, lyin’ Megyn K.

In the heart of little fools
There she turns into
Stupendous and sweet
There was no hate…

I’ve Got ‘Em Feeling

Original words and music “I’ve Got a Feeling” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

I’ve got ’em feeling, they’re feeling deep inside, oh, yeah, oh, yeah
I’ve got ’em feeling, they’re feeling ’cause I lied, oh, no, oh, no
Yeah, yeah, I’ve got ’em feeling

Oh, please believe me, they hate to use their brain, oh, yeah, oh, yeah
And if you please them, they won’t berate again, oh, no, oh, no
Yeah, yeah, I’ve got ’em feeling

All these years I’ve been wondering aloud
Wondering how come no one exposed me
All that I’ve been talking ’bout was somebody who thought like you

I’ve got ’em feeling, it keeps ’em off their toes, oh, yeah, oh, yeah
I keep ’em feeling the things that “ev’rybody knows”, oh, yeah, oh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, I’ve got ’em feeling, yeah, yeah

Ev’rybody had a part here, ev’rybody took their sweet time
Ev’rybody had a wet dream, ev’rybody saw the “Fun” sign, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah
Ev’rybody had a good fear, ev’rybody let their guard down
Ev’rybody saw the Fox nuts, ev’rybody put the fools down, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah

On After Nine-oh-nine
Original words and music “One After Nine-oh-nine” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

The crazy one’s unrav’lling when he’s on after nine-oh-nine
I said switch over, honey, a-Hannity’s on that time
I said switch over once, switch over twice
Come on, baby, throw me the device
Said unrav’lling when he’s on after nine-oh-nine

I begged to watch the show and I begged her on my bended knee
He’s only foolish now, only foolish now you’ll see.
I said switch over once, switch over twice
Come on, baby, throw me the device
Said unrav’lling when he’s on after nine-oh-nine

Set up my snacks, Tuned to the station,
Rachel says, you got the wrong location
Pick up my snack, run my thumbs
Then I find I’ve got the channel wrong

Said unrav’lling when he’s on after nine-oh-nine
I said switch over, honey, a-Hannity’s on that time
I said switch over once, switch over twice
Come on, baby, throw me the device

Said unrav’lling when he’s on after nine-oh-nine
Set up my snacks, Tuned to the station,
Rachel says, you got the wrong location
Pick up my snack, run my thumbs
Then I find I’ve got the channel wrong

Said unrav’lling when he’s on after nine-oh-nine
I said switch over, honey, a-Hannity’s on that time
I said switch over once, switch over twice
Come on, baby, throw me the device
Said unrav’lling when he’s on after nine-oh…
Said unrav’lling when he’s on after nine-oh…
Said unrav’lling when he’s on after nine-oh-nine

The Wrong and Blinding Code
Original words and music “The Long and Winding Road” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1970
Additional Lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

The wrong and blinding code that leads to more poor
Will never disappear, we’ve used that code before
It always leads them there, leads them to more poor

The wild, hot windy Right, that The Brains trashed away
Was deft at foolish fears, crying for the pay
Why leave them standing there, tell them what to say

Many times we’ve said a load, and many times we’ve tried
Anyway you’ll never know the many ways we lied

But still we feed them crap from the wrong, blinding code
We left them tasting fear a long, long time ago
Don’t leave them standing there, lead them to more poor
Duh-duh, duh-duh, dumb

I Use You
Original words and music “For You Blue” by George Harrison, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

Because deceit is lovely, world, I use you
Because deceit is lovely, world, it’s used
I use you more than ever, world, I do
I’ll flaunt you in the morning, world, I’ll use you
I’ll flaunt you at the moment I’m untrue
Deceiving every moment, world, for you

Bop
Bop, cat, bop
Go, Billy, Go
Same ol’ twelve half-truths
Sigmund Feud’s got nothing on this baby

I used you from the moment I saw you
You took to me that’s all I had was you
I feed it out I hope you feed it, too
Because deceit is lovely, world, I use you
Because deceit is lovely, world, it’s used
I use you more than ever, world, I do
I’m giving ’em blues

Less Facts
Original words and music “Get Back” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, 1970
Additional lyrics by Wayne A. Schneider, 2011

Rupert was a man who thought that as an owner
Got to say what shouldn’t pass
Rupert gave a home to lunatics and bigots
Brought the paranoia fast
Less facts, less facts, less facts on air, they don’t belong
Less facts, less facts, less facts on air, they don’t belong

Beat the ratings market, thought that was an omen,
Bet he made another plan
All the world around him say he’s got it coming
But he does it while he can
Less facts, less facts, less facts on air, they don’t belong
Less facts, less facts, less facts on air, they don’t belong

Thank you. On behalf of the world and ourselves, I hope they end up in prison.

  1. It will take me some time to get through all these since I’m busy on a Sunday morning watching the silly shows, Wayne. Plus, I’ll have to look up the clips on Youtube, because I don’t have any Beatles on digital, only some very old, scratchy, vinyl. And no turntable. 😀

  2. I’ve gotten as far as Megyn K. Now the cats need me to feed them.
At least these are all on Youtube without any copyright issues. I like how you got the reference to ‘the Judge’ in there.

  3. Finished! I see why it took you so long between posts, to do the other eleven songs. Which one did you think was the hardest one?

  4. Thanks, House. Actually I’ve only been working on these off and on over the past couple of weeks. I spent, maybe, about twelve hours writing all of these, and that’s a generous guess. (It might have taken me less time than that.)

The first song on the album (“Two of Us”) took longer than I thought to write because I wanted to preserve the structure I had started with (“Look at us…”,”You can see…”), but I had trouble with the rest. The ones I saved for last to work on (“One After 909”) took less time than I thought they would once I got past the first couple of lines, though I thought they might be the hardest.

And thank you for the kind words and for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed your visit. 🙂

  6. This design is incredible! You most certainly know how to keep a reader
entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own
blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Great job. I really enjoyed what you had to say,
and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
